Danau Girang Field Centre is a research facility remotely located off the Kinabatangan River in Malaysia Borneo. It is surrounded by lowland dipterocarp and swamp secondary forest which is fragmented by oil palm plantations. Several researchers base themselves at DGFC during their years that are invested in field work before they head to KK to write their PhD dissertation. The students are coming from all around the globe and share a drive and passion for protecting the habitat & wildlife shared by a vast array of species. Everyone here at DGFC must sleep well at the end of the day knowing that their work is directly contributing to saving one of the world's largest hotspots for biodiversity!
